Men's Soccer Escapes Olympia With Tie

Box Score

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Carlos Pehr scored a late goal to draw Warner Pacific even with Evergreen State and allow the Knights to stay in 1st place in the CCC standings.

The Geoducks, who are in a fight for the 3rd and final playoff spot, struck first in the 10th minute. Chris Ashburn took a headed pass from Kyle Foster and scored from close in to give ESC the early advantage.

It took until the 75th minute for the Knights to respond, as Pehr roped in a shot from 15 yards to tie the game at 1-1.

2 overtime periods could not settle the contest, as WP keeper Sean Ervin made a save in each one to preserve the draw.

Warner Pacific now sits at 10-2-1 in CCC play, one point ahead of 2nd place Concordia (10-3-0). The Knights host Oregon Tech on Saturday, November 7th. A win over the Owls will give WP the CCC regular season title.
