Tracksters Compete at Idaho, U of P
February 8, 2010A cadre of Knight track & field athletes competed at two different events this last weekend, with several strong performances turned in.
A large contingent made it out to the Runner’s Soul Open at the University of Idaho on Saturday. 12 athletes cracked the top 8 for indoor marks at Warner Pacific. Highlights of that dozen includes freshman Garrett South, who sprinted to a 9.05 time in the 60 meter hurdles – the second fastest ever at WP.
Another freshman posted a #2 all-time indoor mark – Erin Adams in the 400 meters (62.66).
A smaller group competed at the University of Portland Invite on Sunday. Performances of note:
Alija Sacirovic placed 4th in the 200 meters, good for #5 all-time at WPC.
Connor Streed won the Pole Vault, and his height of 13 feet 6 inches tied WPC’s record for that event for indoor competition.
