KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Warner Pacific golf teams traveled to Klamath Falls to compete in the Oregon Tech Invitational held at Running Y Ranch. The Knight men finished 4th out of 10 teams in attendence, while the women placed 6th of 6 teams present.The women never found a good rhythm, and posted a total score of 775 (383-392) over the two rounds of play. Marissa Casanova was the top individual for the Knights at 17th place overall. The junior transfer carded a very strong score of 83 during the second round. The rest of the Knights on the course were Quincy Anderson (97-102=199, 28th), Samantha Healy (90-110=200, 27th), and Brittany Teraoka (101-97=202, 28th).The Knight men placed 4th as a team and were lamenting a rough round one or the squad would have fared even better. WP's total score of 931 (323-305-303) was three strokes behind 3rd place team College of Idaho. Dillon Battles gained strength as the tournament went on and was the top WP finisher in 12th place (83-75-72=230). Jacob Berg turned in a career best 69 in round three, placing 14th overall (84-78-69=231)Other Knights competing were Blair Walsh (78-79-79=236, 21st), Justin Murray (80-73-86=239, 25th), Glenn Linder (82-81-83=246, 37th) and Reyn Morioka (83-83-84=2250, 42nd). "It was a decent start to the season," said coach Quincy Heard. "The ladies just need to gain some confidence and they will improve their scores across the board. The guys shook off a tough first day and showed what they are capable of. I am looking forward to the rest of the season."
