PORTLAND, Ore. – The Warner Pacific men started fast, then held on late in a 64-57 win over Northwest on senior night at Bart Valentine Court.

The Basics

Score: Warner Pacific 64, Northwest 57
Records: WPC (22-6, 12-4 CCC), NU (15-13, 5-11 CCC)
Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
The Short Story: Ryan Parks led the contingent of Knight seniors with 17 points, leading Warner Pacific to a win over a stingy Northwest University team. WP was particularly adept from the three point line, making 13 of 21 tries - five from the hand of Parks. Northwest kept things close with plenty of trips to the free throw line, making 16 of 22 attempts. NU drew as close as two points inside the final two minutes, but the home team outscored the Eagles 8 to 3 to close the game.

How it Happened

Parks made his first three pointer on the Knights' first possession, his first of five makes from distance.
Nemanja Grujicic briefly tied the game at 3-3 with a three point play for NU, but the hosts eventually jumped out to a 18-6 lead.
Doug Thomas scored a layup at the 7:56 mark to give Warner Pacific a 25-10 lead and the game seemed to well in hand for the Knights.
NU closed the half on a 10-3 run however, setting up a hard fought second period.
The Eagles scored the first five points of the second half, then took their only lead of the game (38-37) with 9:06 to play on a Thomas Jordan three pointer.
Coletun Tarr righted the ship with a 10 footer, and Parks and Thomas followed with back-to-back treys.
Northwest tried one more run, and drew within two points (56-54) as Grujicic found space in the paint for a bucket with 1:21 on the clock.
Earl Jones floated in a clutch runner on the next possession, and Doug Thomas followed with a steal and fast break hoop to seal the game.

Notable

Seniors Josh Black, Laron Daniels, Ryan Parks, Doug Thomas, Michael Hall, Tim Carter, and Coletun Tarr were honored before the game.
