Warner Pacific Knights Athletics

Warner Pacific College and Portland Adventist Academy have reached an agreement to provide a new home for the Knight men's and women's soccer teams. Portland Adventist is building a new synthetic turf field on their campus at 99th and Market Street in east Portland which will serve as a home facility for both PAA and WPC soccer.

This field is constructed by FieldTurf, which utilizes the latest technology in artificial playing surfaces. FieldTurf, a worldwide leader in innovative flooring and sports surface solutions, has provided playing surfaces across the United States including the Portland Timbers Providence Park, CenturyLink Field in Seattle and Gillette Stadium in New England.

"We are extremely blessed to be working with Portland Adventist Academy on this project," said Jamie Joss, Director of Athletics at Warner Pacific. "This facility will be a tremendous asset for their school and their students."

The Knight soccer teams will have dedicated practice and game hours during each fall season, and use of the facility during the spring on a request basis.

"Partnering with Warner Pacific for the use of our new field has been a key factor in getting the field project built," said Ty Johnson, Vice President at Portland Adventist Academy. "Having a partner with similar values and a long history of excellence in our community seemed like a good fit from the beginning. We are very excited about sharing this facility and working with Warner Pacific for years to come."

Warner Pacific soccer has a nomadic history, with the men's team experiencing over 20 years of wandering from field to field. In the 1980's WP played home contests at Portland's Civic Stadium, while recent homes for both men and women include Portland Christian and David Douglas high schools.

"Securing a long term agreement at a top-class facility will enhance the experience of our student-athletes and is a major step forward for our soccer programs," said Joss. "Ty Johnson and everyone at Portland Adventist has been very generous in accommodating our needs for a home soccer venue. We look forward to many years of partnership with PAA."
